How many workshops or conferences have you gone to?
What do you remember as life-changing?
I've been to quite a few and honestly what I remember is building relationships with the team I went with, or chewing on an idea one of us got from a teaching.
Here are SIX reasons Bridges Coach training could be your best next for growth!
#1 Understanding Coaching Culture is usually life-changing! (When was the last time you said that about a conference or workshop?)
Coaching, in essence, is the Biblical framework for discipleship. Once I started studying it, I saw it everywhere. My Bible is chock full of green highlighter, the color I chose just for coaching principles.
Jesus said, "His yoke was easy and His burden was light." When coaching principles are used conversationally, I can help people choose God's way for them without feeling the weight of their choice, or the cost of pushing out the timing of their resolution.
My interactions with others, at work and at home, are different because of the conversational coaching perspective I now have.
#2 Bridges Coach Training is spread out over multiple weeks, not crammed into a couple of days.
There are industry standards about how many hours of voice-to-voice training are required for coaching certification. Most programs offer their coach training in chunks of time back-to-back to incorporate the required amount of hours. Our training is spread out over multiple weeks. Focusing on one concept a little at a time allows for the transformational change to seep into your life to affect actual change. Understanding takes practice, not just knowledge.
#3 Discussion-based learning goes way deeper than listening to a teacher and filling in the blanks.
The Bridges Coaching certification program includes 11 sessions with a peer partner and a facilitator. This 1-2 ratio is rarely seen. (Most of my training was on the phone with 10-20 other people and a "trainer", which is one of the reasons I designed this training!) Meeting face-to-face on Zoom allows:
#4 There's something for everyone.
Some people learn best from reading, some from listening, and some through projects that practice the principles. Our curriculum has an intentional mix.
#5 Coach Training helps you help others, but it also helps you personally!
The Always Circle concept is usually a game-changer. Truly believing that "God uses all things for good" and the ability to see that for yourself, and then to help others see it and walk it out brings a confidence and connection with God that strengthens your rooted foundation in Who He is and how He is there for each of us. (Something rare in an outcome of using your ed allowance.)
#6 True Coaching is trending!
The International Coaching Federation is growing as is Christian Coaching Network International, but both define coaching in a way that is not common. They both say the same thing.
Coaching is not consulting and it's not counseling!
Maybe you are a natural, but most people use "telling" as the way to help people grow, coaching is more a learned skill.
True coaching is an art. A craft that needs to be practiced and honed into a skill. We can help!
Whether you are a minister or a manager - your Ed Allowance would be well spent on coach training - and even better if you did it together with your team! (And if you are a mom who doesn't have an Ed Allowance - it's still a great growth opportunity.)
Bridges Coach training can take your life and leadership to next levels!
If you are trying to decide what to do with your Ed Allowance, I think you would love coach training!
*If you don't have an Ed Allowance, it's still a good investment. Hundreds of people have now been coach certified through Bridges.
